Community Choreography Project

The "Community Choreography Project" is a choreography competition with the objective to empower young choreographers between the ages of 14-18 to use their dance voice to make a difference, to improve artistry, to use their talent and passion to share the gift of dance with the public and to have an outlet in an educated environment for the opportunity to create a dance.

The dancer will choreograph a 2 minute piece that will be judged by an impartial panel of judges at a performance at the Broomfield Auditorium. Styles of dance can include: Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, or Hip Hop. Music must be "clean" without explicit words or meaning. Costumes must be in good taste. All choreography must completely be the original work of the student nominee.

Choreography Workshop

All dancers nominated are invited to a 5 week choreography workshop with the focus of learning how to use choreographic techniques to enhance their choreography. The workshop is free. It is not a requirement to attend the workshop to compete, but it is highly recommended. All workshop dates and showings will be at Dance Arts Studio.
